Financial Markets and Policy Map.

Financial MapsThe Financial Markets and Policy Map can be used to gain insight into the weave of financial institutions, markets, and government that characterizes the U.S. financial system. Currently based on Flow of Funds data from the Federal Reserve, the Map answers the question, “Who lends how much to whom and through which markets?” For example, the map describes:

  • What are the major assets of the banking sector?
  • How do broker-dealers finance themselves?
  • How big is the mortgage market?
